How to Delete iPhone Apps and Disable Restrictions

Deleting apps from the home screen

  1. Unlock your iPhone and browse the home screen and other screens to find the app you wish to delete.
  2. When you have found the app, just long press its icon, and wait until all the other apps on the screen start to jiggle.
  3. Owners of iPhone 6S or more recent models will have to press and hold app lightly. If they push too hard, then the 3DTouch menu may appear.
  4. Now, just touch the cross or X button located in the upper left-hand corner of the app you want to delete.
  5. If there is not X mark on the app, then it means that you cannot delete the app.
  6. If you cannot see the X mark on any app, then it means that you have to disable the restrictions.
  7. Press the red Delete button in the confirmation screen.
  8. Now, the selected application will get removed from your iPhone, and all of its information will get wiped out.
  9. For exiting the jiggling app mode, hit the Home button.

How to disable restrictions?

  1. Firstly, you are required to launch the Settings application. The icon is gray in color and gear shaped.
  2. Scroll down the menu, and tap on General.
  3. In the General Settings screen, locate Restrictions and tap on it.
  4. Now, you will be prompted to provide the Restrictions Passcode.
  5. Enter the four character code that you set up while setting up the Restrictions settings for the first time.
  6. Scroll down and locate the option called Deleting Apps.
  7. Toggle it to Off.
  8. After disabling the restrictions for deleting apps, you can remove apps from your iPhone.
