Here, good news for the content creators of YouTube, now the YouTube is releasing a tool for the creators who want to check that their videos are safe or stolen by someone else. As we all know that every single second, a video is uploaded to YouTube, and the service will scan the content and creators will also be able to check if any content is already exists or might be similar to other videos on the site. However, it will only identify complete videos, not the clips.
Now, the latest tool is calling by the name Copyright Match Tool and will roll out to the creators with almost 100,000 subscribers starting from the next week. Soon, it will roll out to many users over the next few months. However, creators who use the tool will be notified if any copies of their videos surface are available on YouTube. If the tools get matched, then the creators can easily decide the action against the thieves. They either can do nothing or might contact the person who made the copy or might ask YouTube to remove the copy permanently from the YouTube.
The original creator is considered by the tool by the person who uploads the video first, so there might be a possibility that some other person copies your video that is already available on Vimeo or Facebook, and also upload on YouTube before you upload.
However, the YouTube already has a similar program which is called as Content ID, and this tool helps the copyrighted owners in finding those people who are using their content without the owner’s permission. The content ID is much more limited in its availability and also different from this new tool. This content ID tools also allow the content or copyrighted content owners to monetize some unauthorized uses of their work or content.
